Become the Precinct General for your Precinct. You know your Precinct. Its neighborhood in which you vote. Its your neighbors. Its the people you worship with, It the Soccer Moms and Dads home. Its where your kids go to school. You know the place.
VOTERS are not impressed w/ paid college students canvassing an area w/ "VOTE FOR ME" brochures. You know the type, they don't know the issues, they don't understand your neighborhood values. They are carpool in, given addresses and names, knock on doors, shove brochures in your face and beg for their pay. They make you feel guilty because you are not doing your fair share in saving the Planet. And what about all the unemployed with no healthcare. So you make a donation....it goes to the Candidate or Party...after he/she takes his/her cut.
You will be an unpaid volunteer. You will be their neighbor. You may know the neighbors who got laid off and who's businesses went bust. You will know and understand the issues and the candidates. You will be the one who we will inform and train. You will be the Precinct General. You will have the line into Headquarters should you need information on a Candidate or issue. Your neighbors will know you as the "Go To" person who has the answers or will be able to get them.
There are over 1,000 Precincts in Alameda County, the majority of them are in Congressional District 13. We will restore this District back its rightful owners...the voters of CD 13. It will be done Precinct by Precinct.
