                                             On Illegal Immigration

                                         5/1/2010  May Day Protests

The May Day Protests all over the nation were Latino in nature with other groups joining in. But it was still vastly Latino in nature. Listening to several of the protestors, one of the common demands was that amnesty be given to those who crossed the border illegally. These protestors claim that it is the Americans who are the Immigrants and not the Latino's. They claim that it was their Ancestors who occupied this Continent hundreds of years before the European Immigrants. Therefore, it is the Latino's claim that they should not be considered illegal and demand amnesty. And that they are entitled to the same rights, freedoms and benefits as the European Immigants. There are some in that group that feel because the Americans (of European Descent) are the real immigrants, so restitution should be given to Latinos for intruding unto their native lands.

But is it the land, or the right to occupy the land really the issue? Why is it desireable to occupy the land North of an imaginary or lightly guarded line, called the border, and not the land South of it. The soil, hills, and valleys just North of the Border is nearly identical to that just South of it. The Climate is nearly identical as so are the natural resources. It is because it is NOT the land that is desireable...but the Society that occupies that land. The Society North of the Border is quite different than that South of it. The wealth, quality of life and opportunities are also quite different. The Government, Laws and the enforcement of those laws additionally differ quite a bit.

It is the right to participate and become a member of the Society North of the Border that is the real issue. That Society was not born of the land, but born of the People who occupied that land. The wealth, quality of life and opportunities did not come from the land, but from the people who reside on it. While the land, or the right to occupy the land north of the border, may be the stated issue...it is the Right to become Part of that Society that is the real issue.

The Rights, Liberties and Freedoms of the Northern Society is protected by the US Government. To define the function of the US Government, a Constitution was written and ratified by the States. All the State's people abide by this Constitution.

The Constitution allowed for a Government, whose job was to defend the rights and liberties, granted unto them from their God. This Government would enact the Laws that would govern its people while ensuring the freedoms born from God Given rights and liberties.  It is the protection by this Government that set its people free to foster the growth of Wealth, Opportunities and Quality of life. The Land and its Borders had very little to do with it.

So, if the Border were to be moved further North, leaving the land but not the Society, Government and Freedoms that now occupy it....would it solve the problem. Probably not. It would only move the Illegal Immigration problem further North. It is not the Land that is the real issue.

                                          On the Arizona Law

Phoenix is the second biggest kidnapping Capital in the World...behind Mexico City. These kidnappings don't have race preferences...Hispanics as well as others are kidnapped. There also is also a very bad drug running problem.

The Arizona Law was enacted to help stem the tide of kidnapping and drug trade. It is no secret that much of this activity comes from south of the Arizona border. It does NOT give local law enforcement the right to profile....but it does give them the right, ONCE SOMEONE HAD BEEN DETAINED FOR ANOTHER LAWFUL REASON AND THERE IS REASONABLE SUSPICION, to check immigration status. THIS IS NOT PROFILING.

Given the kidnapping and drug trade problem, this law is sorely needed to protect the citizens and residents of the State of Arizona. The Federal Government won't do it, so the State has the right and the duty to do so.
